The Melbourne High School Crew Team, approximately 34 students accompanied by two BPS female employees and two male registered volunteer/coaches, are requesting approval to travel to Augusta, Georgia to compete in the annual Head of the South Regatta on November 11-13, 2022. Students will not miss any school time due to the Nov. 11th holiday. The team will leave from Melbourne High School at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11th and return by 1:00 a.m. on November 13th. Travel will be by charter bus rented through BPS approved vendor, BTM Transportation. Lodging will be at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1065 Stevens Creek Road, Augusta, GA 30907. Trip cost is approximately $300 which includes transportation, hotel, food, regatta fees and transporting boats. Funds to cover trip costs are provided by sponsorships, previous fundraisers, and family contributions. THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT. 

Recommendation

Approve the request of the Melbourne High School Crew Team, approximately 34 students accompanied by two BPS female employees and two male registered volunteer/coaches, to travel to Augusta, Georgia to compete in the annual Head of the South Regatta on November 11-13, 2022.
