The Department of Adult and Community Education is proposing a Pathways to Career Opportunities Grant project funded by the Florida Department of Education, Division of Career and Adult Education.  The proposal will include the request for funding to support the expansion of the Brevard Adult Education Pre-apprenticeship program in the transportation, distribution, and logistics career cluster to include certified logistic associate (CLA) and certified logistics technician (CLT) training to prepare pre-apprentices for the CLT certification and distribution and technician occupations.

The competitive grant proposal was released by the Florida Department of Education on August 3, 2022.  The deadline for grant submission is August 18, 2022.


Approve the submission of the 2022-23 Pathways to Career Opportunities Grant (PCOG) proposal.

Authority for Action
2023 State of Florida General Appropriations Act (Appropriation Number 119 – Aid to Local Governments – Grant Aids) to establish new or expand existing registered apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship programs that are located in either Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, and/or Volusia counties.
