The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

· This policy is being revised to ensure compliance with new state statute.

These proposed revisions do encompass the suggested language from NEOLA.

Recommendation

Board Policy 2417 Comprehensive Health Education is currently being revised and will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

  • Rule Development (Public Hearing) – 10/10/23
  • School Board Meeting Information – 10/10/23
  • School Board Meeting Approval – 10/24/23
  • Effective Date – upon approval
