The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

• This policy is being revised to clarify the procedures regarding student health and other changes in compliance with applicable Florida law.

• Particular areas of revision include the following: Notice of health care services.

These proposed revisions do encompass the suggested language from NEOLA.

Board Policy 5780 Parent Rights / Studen Rights will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

• Work Session – 10/11/22
• Rule Development Workshop – 10/25/22
• School Board Meeting Information – 10/25/22
• School Board Meeting Approval – 12/13/22

Effective Date – upon approval

Review/discuss proposed revisions to 5780 Parent Rights /  Student Rights and advise staff of additional requested changes as needed.
