The replacement of classroom air conditioning units at Freedom 7 Elementary School is programed in year 3 of the sales surtax renewal program. The reliability of these units has been decreasing which is impacting the learning environment. The project was designed by DDC Engineering, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. 

W & J Construction, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $1,011,497 for the work under their continuing contract for construction management services. Administration ,and permitting costs have been previously budgeted. The project will be funded through budgeted sales surtax renewal funds and capital designated for air conditioning projects. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the total project construction budget for the replacement of classroom air conditioning units at Freedom 7 Elementary School in the amount of $1,011,497.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by W & J Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed$1,011,497 for the replacement of classroom air conditioning units at Freedom 7 Elementary School
