Mr. Susin explained his rationale for his suggested revisions/comments during the last Work Session on October 11, 2022.  He stated that he had a conversation with Dr. Mullins pertaining to moving forward.

Dr. Mullins stated that he and Mr. Susin had a follow-up conversation after the last Work Session around this topic/policy.  He explained that some of the ideas that Mr. Susin proposed would directly impact how the policy will look.  Dr. Mullins suggested that while we are doing the middle school study and bringing back recommendations to the Board, it seems appropriate to look at this policy at the same time with a more thorough evaluation of all middle school athletics.  Dr. Mullins explained that if the district is considering a redesign of middle school athletics, he is not opposed to pulling this policy until a more thorough overview is brought back for Board consideration.  The Board supported pulling the policy for further action at this time.
