The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

This policy is being revised to add Vendor Preference for Certified Veteran Business Enterprises in the event of equal bids, clarify agreement review requirements, remove delegated authority for Director of Procurement & Distribution for renewals and require renewals to go to the Board, minor formatting changes, and other changes in compliance with applicable Florida law.


Board Policy 6320 Procurement and Contracting is currently being revised and will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

  • Work Session – 10/24/23
  • Rule Development (Public Hearing) – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Information – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Approval – 12/12/23

Effective Date – upon approval
