The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

  • This policy is being revised to clarify the procedures regarding Student Progression, and other changes in compliance with applicable Florida law.
  • Particular area of revision include the following: addition of beginning in 2022 – 2023, the end-of-year comprehensive progress monitoring assessment administered pursuant to F.S. 1008.25(8)(b)2.

These proposed revisions do encompass the suggested language from NEOLA.

Recommendation

Board Policy 5410 Student Progression is currently being revised and will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

  • Work Session 10/24/23
  • Rule Development (Public Hearing) – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Information – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Approval – 1212/23_

Effective Date – upon approval
