Jane Cline, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Leading and Learning, provided the executive summary.

Ms. Campbell asked why the entire policy is being changed.  Ms. Cline explained that we are now under New World reading initiative so they have been directed to revise the policy to encompass both 2520 and 2521.  They followed NEOLA and they upped the timeline because the New World initiative has to take place by December 31, 2021. Ms. Campbell commented that there is a lot of repetition between 2520 and 2521.

Ms. Campbell stated that  she wants J on old policy put back into K.  Ms. Cline said they can insert J back into the policy. It was finally determined that J would be best added to 2521.

Another question from Ms. Campbell was in L.  She asked what was the meaning of "free instructional materials." Dr. Stephanie Soliven, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Leading and Learning, provided clarification.

On letter N, Ms. Campbell asked if the books are supposed to be delivered to the school or to the home? Ms. Cline said it would be delivered to the home.  The process is still being worked out.
