| Discussion The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability. • This policy is being revised to clarify the procedures regarding public participation at Board Meetings and to make Board Meetings more efficient, in compliance with applicable Florida law. • Particular areas of revision include the following: A graduated scale of public comment time dependent on the number of individuals to speak to the Board; separating public comments regarding agenda items and non-agenda items; and public created signs in the Board room. • These proposed revisions encompass the suggested language from NEOLA as well as include additional language by the Board. | ||||||||||||||||||
