After four sessions of bargaining, a tentative agreement was reached for the Agreement between the School Board of Brevard County (District) and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 1010 on a contract covering SY2022-2023.  This tentative agreement was ratified by the IUPAT Local 1010 bargaining unit on October 6 and 8, 2022.  Along with language modifications covering items such as an increase to parental leave and food service changes, a minimum wage of $15.00 was approved for all 2021-22 salary slots $14.39 and below and a 4.2% increase was approved for all 2021-22 salary slots $14.40 and above.  In addition, there is an increase to insurance premiums and, through a memorandum of understanding, a reduced insurance waiting period from forty-five (45) to fifteen (15) days from the date of hire.  Lastly, a memorandum of understanding was approved for head custodians who are at a $15 hourly rate to receive a $1000 bonus if they are employed as a head custodian in the first semester of 2022-23.

Recommendation

The School Board approve the Agreement between the School Board of Brevard County and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 1010 for SY2022-2023.
