Intercom renewal projects are planned District-wide as part of the 2020 sales surtax renewal program. The project at Audubon Elementary School has been designed by TLC  Engineering Solutions under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services.

W & J Construction Corporation has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price in an amount not to exceed $242,271.90 for the intercom renewal project at Audubon Elementary School under their continuing contract for construction management services. This project is combined with the intercom renewal project at Hoover Middle School to achieve economy of scale and reduce the construction management fee. Administration and permitting have been previously budgeted.

This project is funded through 2020 sales surtax and 2014 sales surtax allocated to Audubon Elementary School. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC) will consider allocating additional funds from the 2020 sales surtax revenue for intercom projects ($120,000 for Audubon Elementary) at its December 7, 2022 meeting. Most intercom projects are exceeding the budgets recommended in the 2020 assessments. Sales surtax revenue has exceeded projections and is available to support the allocation. If needed, capital is also available to partially fund this project.

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. 





Approve the total project construction budget for the intercom renewal project at Audubon Elementary School in the amount of $242,271.90. 

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by W & J Construction Corporation in an amount not to exceed $242,271.90 for the intercom renewal project at Audubon Elementary School under their continuing contract for construction management services.

Approve the additional allocation of up to $120,000 from the 2020 sales surtax program for the intercom projects at Audubon Elementary School, pending ICOC review.
