Discussion The 2020 sales surtax plan includes structured cabling for educational technology and intercom renewal at Saturn Elementary School. The scope of work also includes electrical upgrades in support of the technology project. Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price in an amount not to exceed $1,324,827 under their continuing contract for design build services based on a Design Criteria Package (DCP) prepared by District staff. This project is funded through 2020 sales surtax. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC) will consider allocating additional funds ($575,000 in educational technology and $200,000 in security (intercom)) from the 2020 sales surtax revenue for this project at its December 7, 2022 meeting. Most intercom and structured cabling projects are exceeding the budgets recommended in the 2020 plan. Sales surtax revenue has exceeded projections and is available to support the allocation. If needed, capital is also available to partially fund this project. Administration and permitting costs have been previously budgeted. Previously, as part of a larger reallocation plan, the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee recommended reallocation of $108,946 of 2020 sales surtax educational technology funds to the Saturn Elementary structured cabling project at its August 17, 2022 meeting. Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used, which does not require legal review. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
