Central Area Transportation - Facility Renewal - SALES SURTAX
Consent w/o Information - 11/17/2020
The Central Area Transportation facility renewal is included in the funded sales surtax program.
Wharton Smith, Inc. (Wharton) has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the facility renewal project at the Central Area Transportation facility in an amount not to exceed $578,583 under their continuing contract for construction management services. The scope of work includes HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, building envelope, electrical and drainage improvements. The design was prepared by TLC, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. The costs will be allocated in accordance with the sales surtax categories.
There are remaining sales surtax funds for this project that will be used towards the extensive building system repairs that are also needed. That project is under development.
Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $10,000.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used, which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $588,583 for the facility renewal project at Central Area Transportation.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Wharton in an amount not to exceed $578,583 under their continuing contract for construction management services for facility renewal at Central Area Transportation.
