Discussion

Work-Based Learning is an integral component of a Career & Technical Education program at the high school.  During the eleventh and twelfth grades, these experiences set expectations for students to interact with business/industry partners.  Students will graduate college and career ready and will receive credit while working in an environment related to their career pathway.  The Specialist - Worked-Based Learning will serve as the liaison between business/industry partners and Brevard Public Schools to manage all aspects of the process for student internships.  This position will be funded through the recurring federal Carl D. Perkins grant.  The grant is an entitlement grant intended for the improvement of secondary CTE programs across the nation.  As long as work-based learning remains a priority in the district, this specialist position may be funded through the federal Perkins grant.
