Discussion Florida Statutes require the State Board of Education to approve areas of critical teacher shortage across the state. State Board Rule projects public school teacher shortages in specific subject areas for the upcoming academic year considering current and emerging educational requirements and workforce demands. Individual district school boards may identify other areas of critical shortage and may remove areas identified by the State Board which do not apply within the local district. In accordance with Florida State Statute, state projections and local projections, the School Board of Brevard County identifies Critical Shortage Subject Areas for the District for School Year 2020-21. | ||||||||||||||||||
