On June 12, 2018, the School Board approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Heard Construction, Inc., for the Central Middle School Technology and Facility Renewal project in an amount not to exceed $1,455,080.53.  

Educational Technology $790,942.62

Building Automation System $438,915.60

Fire Alarm System $225,222.31

One change order was approved for Fire Alarm Systems, adjusting the not to exceed amount to $1,577,924.26.

The work has been completed and audited.  The final project cost is $1,487,929.38  which includes $1,227,395.00 contracted costs and $260,534.38 owner direct purchases.  The unused balance is $74,162.82 and tax savings of $15,832.06.

Building Automation System Unused $21,839.60

Fire Alarm System Unused $39,121.04

Because the cost of construction is over $300,000 the Florida Department of Education requires the Superintendent to sign the Certificate of Final Inspection (OEF-209) following certification by Engineer/Architect of Record and the Building Official.


Authorize the Superintendent to sign FDOE OEF Form 209 - Certificate of Final Inspection for the project.
