The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

  • This policy is being revised to clarify the procedures regarding Foreign Students, and other changes in compliance with applicable Florida law.

These proposed revisions do encompass the suggested language from NEOLA.

Recommendation

Board Policy 5114 Foreign Students is currently being revised and will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

  • Work Session – 10/24/23
  • Rule Development (Public Hearing) – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Information – 11/14/23
  • School Board Meeting Approval – 12/12/23

Effective Date – upon approval
