The District issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ 23-544-Q-HD) for design services for the Mila Elementary School building renovation/classroom addition project. The phase 1 scope of the project includes a detailed study of the functionality of Building 9 to serve the educational program needs at Mila Elementary School. Options to analyze will include renovation of Building 9 and/or constructing a new classroom building on campus. Ancillary support facilities such as traffic circulation and parking will also be analyzed. Following the stakeholder engagement process, the architect will also furnish comprehensive design services for a new classroom building and/or renovation of Building 9, as well as any ancillary facility improvements

Four firms submitted proposals and three were shortlisted, interviewed and ranked as follows:

1. DAG Architects, Inc.
2. Architects RZK, Inc.
3. Song + Associates, Inc.

The Selection Committee recommends that the Board award the design contract (RFQ 23-544-Q-HD) to DAG Architects, Inc. as the top-ranked firm.

The requested action is to approve the recommended award. The design services contract is under negotiation and will be submitted for School Board consideration at an upcoming meeting.  The project is currently funded through capital but may be an eligible project for educational impact fees depending on the scope of work.
