The K-12 Comprehensive Evidence Based Reading Plan (CERP) being submitted for approval is for the 2023-24 school year.  Rule 6A-6.053, F.A.C., reguires school districts to submit a board approved K-12 Comprehensive Evidence Based Reading Plan by June 15 of each year.  The district K-12 CERP depicts and details the role of the administration, professional development, assessment, curriculum, and instructions in the improvement of student learning of the BEST English Language Arts Standards as provided in Rule 6A-1.09401, F.A.C.  The K-12 CERP applies to all BPS traditional school sites.  Charter schools may opt to participate in the district's K-12 CERP or may select to submit a separate reading plan to the Office of School Choice for approval.

Recommendation

Approve the K-12 Comprehensive Reading Evidence Based Plan (CERP) for SY 2023-24.
