Portable Relocation - Design Build Services
Consent w/o Information - 05/25/2021
The Student Accommodation Plan approved by the School Board in March includes an expansion of the Brevard Learners Achieving Successful Transition (B.L.A.S.T.) program to Merritt Island High School. The program will be accommodated in three classroom portables (moving from Viera High School) and one bathroom portable (moving from Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School).
Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $394,052.35 under their continuing contract for design build services based on the Design Criteria Package prepared by District staff. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $12,000.
The project will be funded through prior-year capital funds remaining for portable relocation ($350,000) with the balance funded through the proposed FY 22 capital allocation plan. Facilities Services will advance-fund the balance through current year budgeted capital renewal funds.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project budget for the Merritt Island High School B.L.A.S.T. program portable relocation project in the amount of $406,052.35
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Canaveral Construction, Co., Inc. under their continuing contract for design build services in an amount not to exceed $394,052.35 Merritt Island High School B.L.A.S.T. program portable relocation project.
