The District Application for Title I Part A funds is being prepared for online submission to the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) by May 1, 2022. A complete copy will be available at the start of the fiscal year. Preliminary district allocations have remained the same as last year for FY23 at $16,293,510.00. The cutoff for Title I (based on the 2015-2016 threshold) is set at 63% for elementary and 74% for secondary. Title I will fund a total of 41 schools (6 charter, 3 alternative sites, 2 secondary, and 30 elementary). The focus of the program will continue to be on academic support for struggling students, prekindergarten units in select Title I public schools, professional development for teachers, and parent engagement activities. Teacher salaries and benefits will continue to constitute the bulk of the budget. Additional budgeted items include instructional support materials and software, professional development and parent engagement costs, computer replacement and other equipment, and the operating expenses of the District Title I Office.


It is the recommendation of Jane Cline, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Leading and Learning and Carol Mela Ed.D., Director of Title I to approve the online submission of the Title I Part A funds for FY23.
