Chairman Susin invited speakers to the podium.  Six speakers signed up to address the Board.

6. Superintendent Selection

Chairman Susin provided an overview of the Superintendent search process, followed by Board discussion pertaining to the final candidates and their strengths.  The majority of the Board was in support to offer Dr. Mark Rendell the position of Superintendent and they authorized contract negotiations to begin.

Chairman Susin called for a break at 10:24 a.m.

The meeting resumed at 10:27 a.m.

Offer Dr. Mark Rendell the position of Superintendent and authorize contract negotiations to begin, led by the Board Chairman and Attorney Paul Gibbs.

INSTITUTION:  ARTICLE IX - SECTION 1.  Public education:
The education of children is a fundamental value of the people of the State of Florida. It is, therefore, a paramount duty of the state to make adequate provision for the education of all children residing within its borders.
