Freezer cooler replacements are needed at Central Middle School, Kennedy Middle School, Ocean Breeze Elementary School, Sabal Elementary School and Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School. 

Canaveral Construction Co. Inc. has submitted Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposals for each of the five schools under their continuing contract for construction management services. The scope of work includes demolition and installation, based on the designs prepared by DDC Engineering, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection services. The Central Middle School project includes new serving lines. The Sabal Elementary School project includes extensive rework of the freezer cooler area to accommodate larger equipment. 

For these projects, the District will be purchasing the freezer cooler units directly under their contracts with Polar King and Master-Bilt.

The GMP for each project is as follows:

Administrative and permitting costs are estimated at $3,000 for each school. The project will be funded through Food Services unrestricted funds.

School Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement is used which does not require legal review.
