State Requirements for Educational Facilities (SREF) 6.1(5)(c) requires that, "Prior to April 1 of each year, each district shall review FISH (Florida Inventory of School Houses) and shall certify to the Office of Educational Facilities that the inventory is current and accurate, using the Certification of Facilities Data (OEF FISH CERT form)." Florida Statutes, 1013.31(1)(b)1 F.S., requires that the net square footage and student stations reported in FISH be at least 95% accurate. In 2015, the Office of Educational Facilities audited six Brevard Schools, representing 5% of our total space and determined that our FISH data for those six schools was 99.22% accurate for net square footage and 99.15% accurate for student stations. The Facilities Planning Department inputs all of the permitted and completed construction projects, as well as any significant items detected to reflect the changes that occur in over 20,000 rooms throughout the district. Whenever a permit is issued that includes a room change, the Planning and Project Management team monitors the progress and the FISH database is updated when construction is complete. 

Authorize the Board Chair and the Superintendent to sign the Certification Form, certifying to the Florida Department of Education that Brevard County School District's Florida Inventory of School Houses (FISH) data is current and accurate pursuant to applicable statutes and rules.
