On August 25, 2020, the School Board approved an Interlocal Agreement between the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC), and the School Board of Brevard County, FL regarding CARES Act funding. 

The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners reviewed the cost of the direct purchases it has made on behalf of the School Board and the purchases for which the County has reimbursed the School Board or has under review.  Based upon the cost submitted to date, the School Board has not reached the $4M cap established by the BoCC for the School Board at the BoCC's workshop on 11/5/20.  The current interlocal agreement was drafted to only allow for expenses incurred up to 12/30/20 which was the limit in place at the time the CARES Act was first passed.  Congress has allowed an extension of that time through the end of this year (2021).  In order for the School Board to receive reimbursement for any expense incurred this calendar year, the County and the School Board will need to amend/extend the interlocal agreement.
