The facility renewal project at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School was constructed in summer 2020. At the time several additional issues were noted including site drainage and extensive water intrusion at Building 8 (see attached photos). The site drainage issues were corrected earlier this year. The correction of the Building 8 water intrusion issues has been under design. 

Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. (Canaveral) has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $517,483 under their continuing contract for construction management services. The design was prepared by Architects RZK, Inc. under their continuing contract for architectural services. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $8,000.

The project is eligible for sales surtax investment, but was not included in the Sales Surtax Funded Detail Report (Attachment F) for Edgewood. The project was considered and approved for supplemental sales surtax funding (estimated $550,000)  by the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee at their February 17, 2021 meeting. School Board consideration of the allocation is scheduled for March 9, 2021.  

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used, which does not require legal review.

Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $525,483 to correct the water intrusion issues at Building 8 Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Canaveral in an amount not to exceed $517,483 under their continuing contract for construction management services to correct the water intrusion issues at Building 8 Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School.
