The sales surtax renewal program includes a project for structured cabling in year 1. The project will also include electrical and intercom renewal (also funded in year 1) since this work can be done by the same type of subcontractor.

Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a preconstruction services proposal in an amount not to exceed $102,927 under their continuing contract for design build services. The proposal is based on a Design Criteria Package (DCP) prepared by District staff. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $5,000. Preconstruction services include design, subcontractor bidding and development of the Guaranteed Maximum Price. 

The project will be managed through Educational Technology in collaboration with Facilities Services. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the preconstruction services budget in the amount of $107,927 for the Andersen Elementary structured cabling,electrical and intercom renewal project.
