March 23, 2021 Board Workshop (Capital Outlay and Enrollment Projections Updates)

Pursuant to School Board Policy 8420.02, the School Board REQUIRES ALL VISITORS TO WEAR A FACE COVERING OF THE NOSE AND MOUTH AT ALL TIMES while on school board property when attendees cannot maintain social distancing. This is inclusive of attendance at School Board meetings/workshops.

The School Board of Brevard County met for a Board workhop on the capital budget on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.  Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Thursday, February 23, 2021 edition of The Eagle.  An Affidavit of publication is available in the Board Office.

Cindy Lesinski, Chief Financial Officer, facilitated the presentation on the capital budget workshop. She provided an overview of district priorities, property tax assessment history, 2021 revenue estimates along with other revenue estimates. 

 

 

Ms. Lesinski then provided the FY22 Capital allocation requests which were provided, by department, requested amount, and proposed amount by the Capital Allocation Committee along with varied comments. She asked for the Board members to review the list and make any suggestions and/or comments and then they can discuss at the next workshop. Boards members asked questions about various items. 

 

Dr. Mullins said that while there is no vote at the workshop he asked if he could have board feedback and general board consensus of support for the the direction they are moving in.  All Board members gave a "thumbs up."
