The Viera High School Classroom Addition project consists of approximately 20,000 square feet with 350 student stations. The project will include eight (8) classrooms, three (3) science labs, and space for the Brevard Learners Achieving Success Transition (BLAST) program, the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, and the Choir program. 

The Board approved the award of RFQ 22-208-Q-DR for design build services to W & J Construction Corporation at the March 8, 2022 meeting. 

W & J Construction Corporation has submitted a preconstruction services proposal in an amount not to exceed $557,080 that includes design services, bidding and preparation of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposal. Administration and permitting for the design phase has been previously budgeted. The GMP is scheduled to be considered by the Board in September, although there will be an early works GMP in June to relocate the portable classrooms . The project is funded through educational impact fees. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
