The second year of the 2020 sales surtax renewal plan includes a classroom casework project at Oak Park Elementary School. Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price in the amount not to exceed $977,776 for classroom casework and flooring replacement under their continuing contract for design build services based on a Design Criteria Package prepared by District staff. The scope of work includes casework replacement with Corian countertops and new ADA drop-in combination sinks in twenty-eight (28) classrooms, including toilet accessories, drywall, painting and plumbing retrofits. Existing composite vinyl tile (CVT) flooring will be replaced with LVT in forty-four (44) rooms and one room will have CVT replaced with carpet tile.  Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $2,000.

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement was used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $979,776 for the Oak Park Elementary School classroom casework project. 

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Wharton Smith, Inc in an amount not to exceed $977,776 under their continuing contract for design build services for the classroom casework renewal project at Oak Park Elementary School.
