For informational purposes only, per section 1002.33(25) in the Florida Statues, Odyssey Charter School, INC has provided a duly noticed meeting of its Board of Directors wherein they voted and approved Odyssey Charter School, INC to be designated a local educational agency (LEA) for the purpose of receiving federal funds. State statue allows certain charter school systems the opportunity to file a resolution with its sponsor and the Department of Education in which the governing board of the charter school system accepts the full responsibility for all LEA requirements (IDEA, Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, Perkins, McKinney Vento) as long as the charter school system meets all of the following:

  1. Has all schools located in the same county;
  2. Has a total enrollment exceeding the total enrollment of at least one school district in the state; and
  3. Has the same governing board.

The charter school’s governing board must adopt and file a resolution with district school board and the Department of Education and accept full responsibility for all LEA requirements.

Attached is the resolution dated May 17, 2023. This will be effective in the fiscal year 2024, which starts on July 1, 2023. All other charter sponsor duties and oversight will remain in effect.
