Melbourne High School - Construction Management Services (Fire Alarm) - SALES SURTAX
Consent w/o Information - 06/14/2022
The fire alarm system at Melbourne High School is failing and needs to be replaced.
Ivey's Construction, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $1,004,879 to replace the fire alarm under their continuing contract for construction management services based on a design by Above Group under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $8,500.
The project is funded through 2014 sales surtax revenue over the $198 million program target. Additional funding for fire alarm renewal ($1.5 million) was approved by the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee on February 17, 2021. Additional fire alarm renewal projects are planned at other schools that may necessitate additional resources.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $1,013,379 for the Melbourne High School fire alarm renewal project.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Ivey's Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,004,879 to replace the fire alarm under their continuing contract for construction management services.
Approve the allocation of up to $1.5 million in 2014 sales surtax revenue over the $198 million target for fire alarm renewal.
