| Discussion On December 13, 2016 the School Board approved a lease of School Board property at 1751 Huntington Lane in Rockledge to Brevard County for the purpose of constructing an Emergency Operations Center. The project is now under construction. Florida Power & Light requires an easement from the property owner (School Board) for the construction, operation and maintenance of underground electric service facilities. It is likely that additional utility services easements may be needed through the course of construction. It is requested that the Board Waive Policy 7305 to the extent it requires Board approval to authorize the Superintendent or Designee to execute utility easements on this property as needed subject to review and approval of the easement documents by General Counsel. Board Policy 7305 Easements is attached for reference.
