The District issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ 23-544-Q-HD) for design services for the Mila Elementary School building renovation/classroom addition project. The School Board awarded the project to DAG Architects, Inc. at the May 9, 2023 meeting.

DAG Architects, Inc. has submitted a phase 1 design services proposal in the amount of $101,250. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $15,000. The project will be funded through budgeted FY 23 capital and planned FY 24 capital designated for this project. 

The phase 1 scope of work includes a detailed study of the functionality of Building 9 to serve the educational program needs at Mila Elementary School. Options to analyze will include renovation of Building 9 and/or constructing a new classroom building on campus. Ancillary support facilities such as traffic circulation and parking will also be analyzed. Following the stakeholder engagement process, the architect will submit a proposal for comprehensive design services for a new classroom building and/or renovation of Building 9, as well as any ancillary facility improvements. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the phase 1 design services budget for Mila Elementary School Building 9 in the amount of $116,250.

Approve the design services contract with DAG Architects, Inc. for the Building 9 design services at Mila Elementary School (RFQ 23-544-Q-HD) and approve the phase 1 services proposal in the amount of $101,250.
