Discussion The sales surtax renewal plan includes funding for electrical renewal at Harbor City Elementary School. Ivey's Construction, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $324,096.15 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the project based on a design submitted by OCI Associates, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Administration and permitting costs have been previously budgeted. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee recommended additional funding of $2,000,000 from the 2020 sales surtax revenue for electrical renewal projects at its December 8, 2021 and is considering an additional $500,000 allocation to electrical renewal projects at its June 21, 2023 meeting. The electrical renewal project at Harbor City Elementary will utilize $225,000 of these resources. Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used which does not require legal review. | ||||||||||||||||||
Recommendation Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $324,096.15 for the electrical renewal at Harbor City Elementary School. Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Wharton Smith, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $324,096.15 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the electrical renewal at Harbor City Elementary School.
