The District annually contracts with municipalities throughout the county to provide law enforcement officers in schools.  For the 2023-2024 school year, the District provided nine municipalities with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) requesting that they approve a partnership with Brevard Public Schools to provide a School Resource Officer (SRO) in each school in their municipality.  The proposed MOUs will provide a total of 34 School Resource Officers from municipalities.The District's estimated FY24 cost for these partnerships is $2,329,000, which is $119,000 more than the FY23 cost.  Attached are the MOUs provided to Brevard County municipalities.

Approve the 2023-2024 MOUs for School Resource Officers with the following municipalities:  Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Satellite Beach, and Titusville.
