The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is requesting to use several district school locations for their 2020 Junior Olympic Games scheduled from July 25, 2020 through August 8, 2020. The AAU is requesting the Superintendent to waive facility rental fees including all utility costs for this specific event. Board Policy 7510 – Use of District Facilities in part states, “There shall be a charge for the use of school facilities and equipment to groups and organizations not directly school related and/or oriented.” As a result of this statement, the Superintendent cannot waive these fees without Board authority to do so. The facility rental fee waiver is applicable to this specific event only and does not apply to any other events through AAU or any other group or organization wishing to use the facilities now or in the future. AAU will pay for all personnel and custodial/cleaning costs for the 2020 AAU Junior Olympic games.

Authorize the Superintendent to charge the AAU for all district related personnel and custodial/cleaning costs associated with the AAU Junior Olympics, but waive all facility rental fees and utility costs for this specific event.
