Indialantic Elementary - Chiller Refurbishment - SALES SURTAX
Consent w/o Information - 07/14/2020
The facility renewal project at Indialantic Elementary School was constructed in summer 2019. The Sales Surtax Funded Detail Report Attachment F for Indialantic Elementary School did not include the chiller and the budget at the time could not support the additional work. Since then, the sales surtax revenue has exceeded the $198 million program target which has allowed for additional work at the schools. The maintenance team has recommended a chiller refurbishment project at Indialantic Elementary School.
Trane, U.S., Inc., one of the District's continuing vendors for HVAC Service and Repair (ITB #15-B-072-LU) submitted a quote to refurbish the chiller compressor in the amount of $86,606. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee recommended the allocation of up to $100,000 from the sales surtax revenue over $198 million at their June 17, 2020 meeting (ICOC summary attached).
In addition, maintenance will fund the display upgrade and 7 year warranty/service agreement from their FY 21 operating budget ($49,586) that is under a separate proposal.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000.
Approve the purchase order to Transe U.S., Inc. under their continuing contract in the amount of $86,606 for chiller refurbishment at Indialantic Elementary School.
Approve the allocation of $86,606 of sales surtax revenue over $198 million to the Indialantic Elementary chiller refurbishment project.
