The Brevard County Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning and School Concurrency, in accordance with Florida Statutes 163.3174, states that "Each Municipality and County shall include a representative of the school district appointed by the school board as a nonvoting member of the local planning agency... However, this subsection does not prevent the governing body of the local government from granting voting status to the school board member." The individual noted in the recommendation below has expressed a desire to serve the interests of Brevard's students as the School Board's representative to the City of West Melbourne Local Planning Agency (LPA). At the Capital Outlay Committee meeting on October 15, 2015, the Committee recommended that the School Board representative be appointed to the same term length as the other local planning agency members. The City of West Melbourne LPA members all serve 2-year terms and the current appointment proposes to be consistent with that term length.

Appoint Ms. Jennifer Parkerson as the School Board Representative to the City of West Melbourne Local Planning Agency for a 2-year term commencing on July 15, 2020 and extending through July 14, 2022. Her sponsoring School Board Member is Ms. Katye Campbell, District 5.
