Eau Gallie and Melbourne High School Orchestra students have qualified to participate and compete in the 2022 American String Teachers Association (ASTA) National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16-19, 2022. This is the most prestigious orchestra competition in the country. The festival will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. Festival packages for hotel accommodations, some meals, entrance tickets and other amenities have been made available to these schools.  Approval is requested to allow schools to begin fund raising for the event. Both schools will provide the appropriate amount of registered volunteers for chaperones per ratio of students attending. Transportation arrangements and hotel accommodations will be made in accordance with all Brevard Public Schools guidelines.

Recommendation

Approve the request of Eau Gallie and Melbourne High Schools to travel and participate in the 2022 ASTA National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16-19, 2022.
