Dr. Mullins recognized the following administrators who were present at the meeting:

  • Kelly Grugan – Reclassed from the position of Assistant Principal at Riviera Elementary School to the position of Assistant Principal at Gardendale Separate Day School, effective July 12th.
Motion
Approve the listed administrative staff recommendations: Accept the resignation of Holly Hultgren from the position of Assistant Principal (10 month) at Titusville High School, effective July 31, 2022. The reclassification/transfer of Kelly Grugan from the position of Assistant Principal (10 month) at Riviera Elementary School to the position of Assistant Principal (12 month) at Gardendale Separate Day School, on annual contract, effective July 12, 2022. Annual salary based on grade 24 of the Nonbargaining Salary Administration Program. Accept the resignation of Tamra Thatcher from the position of Director of State Regional Literacy in Elementary Leading and Learning, effective July 22, 2022.

Dr. Mullins provided the Board and viewing audience with a Superintendent's Report pertaining to 2022 Summer Learning Opportunities.  In addition to the report, Dr. Mullins provided information about recently released school grades and school improvements.

Discussion ensued among the Board regarding the information presented and the great work throughout the district.

Ms. Campbell provided clarification to the public as this item was addressed by a public comment speaker.  She explained that this is an extension to utilize materials that we currently are using which have already been through the instructional approval process.  The process for the new materials will follow after the one year extension is complete.

36. EKG Testing Requirements

Mr. Susin stated that $25,000 was donated for additional EKG testing within elementary schools.  The funds could be distributed by the Brevard Schools Foundation via scholarships to interested families.  He provided an overview to the Board and asked if there was support to have staff begin developing a process.  Discussion ensued among the Board and Dr. Mullins for further clarification.  The Board was in support for the Superintendent and staff to explore options for moving forward.
