Ocean Breeze Elementary School - Construction Management Services - SALES SURTAX

Intercom renewal projects are planned District-wide as part of the 2020 sales surtax renewal program. The project at Ocean Breeze Elementary School has been designed by TLC Engineering Solutions under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services.
Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price in an amount not to exceed $219,671 for the intercom renewal project at Ocean Breeze Elementary School under their continuing contract for construction management services. This project is combined with intercom renewal projects at other sites (Astronaut High School and Johnson Middle School) to achieve economy of scale and reduce the construction management fee. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $7,000.
This project is funded through 2020 sales surtax and 2014 sales surtax remaining for Ocean Breeze Elementary School facility renewal.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget for the intercom renewal project at Ocean Breeze Elementary School in the amount of $226,671
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Wharton Smith, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $219,671 for the intercom renewal project at Ocean Breeze Elementary School under their continuing contract for construction management services.
