Intercom renewal projects are planned District-wide as part of the 2020 sales surtax renewal program. The project at West Melbourne School for Science has been designed by TLC  Engineering Solutions under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services.

Heard Construction, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price in an amount not to exceed $224,994.37 for the intercom renewal project at West Melbourne School for Science under their continuing contract for construction management services. This project is combined with intercom renewal projects at other sites to achieve economy of scale and reduce the construction management fee. Additional administration and permitting costs are estimated at $5,000.

This project is funded through 2020 sales surtax and state grant funds. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the total project construction budget for the intercom renewal project at West Melbourne School for Science in the amount of $229,994.37. 

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Heard Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $224,994.37 for the intercom renewal project at West Melbourne School for Science under their continuing contract for construction management services.
