Discussion

The Department of Career and Technical Education is submitting a grant application for federal funds from the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V), Advancing Career and Technical Education through Entrepreneurship Education and Training (EET).  This is a competitive grant.  To expedite the receipt of these entitlement funds, the application will be signed by the Superintendent and submitted electronically to the Office of Grants Management in the established Department Grants Management SHAREFILE.  The purpose of the grant is to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and entrepreneurial capabilities in secondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs.  To meet grant requirements, funds will be primarily used to support the following areas: (1) Equipment and supplies for CTE programs interested in fostering growth and innovation through school-based enterprises; and (2) contractual services to deliver entrepreneurship education in CTE classrooms.  A copy of the 2022-23 EET grant application will be available in the Office of Career & Technical Education.
