The district has received notification of an entitlement award for grant funded programs from the Florida Department of Education. The Title II, Part A preliminary allocation for the 2023-2024 program period is in the amount of $2,395,814.00. Title II, Part A funding is intended to increase student achievement consistent with the challenging state academic standards by helping schools and districts improve teacher and principal quality. Areas of focus under Title II, Part A include supporting effective instruction through professional development, recruitment and retention, and prioritizing effective teachers for high needs students. The Title IV, Part A preliminary allocation for the 2023-2024 program period is in the amount of $1,335,492.00. Funds are allocated based on the Title I formula. Title IV, Part A funding is intended to provide students with access to a well-rounded education, improve safe and healthy school conditions for student learning, and improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students. Both allocations include a proportional share of funds for charter schools within Brevard Public Schools’ boundaries, as well as equitable services for non-public schools. There are no matching requirements for either Title II, Part A or Title IV, Part A. Awarded funds under both Title II, Part A and Title IV, Part A must be fully obligated by July 31, 2024 or earlier if so identified by the Florida Department of Education. Upon completion, a full copy of each application shall be available for review in the Secondary Leading and Learning Department.
