The reclassification of Jeffrey E. Coverdale from the position of Assistant Principal (10 month) at Golfview Elementary School to the position of Acting Principal at Golfview Elementary, on annual contract, effective January 25, 2023. Annual salary based on grade 26 of the Nonbargaining Salary Administration Program.

Dr. Stephanie Soliven, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Leading & Learning, and Lorri Benjamin, Director of Adult & Community Education, presented an update to the Board pertaining to BPS' Adult Ed programs and success rates.  The Board expressed appreciation to the team.

Dr. Schiller provided the Board with a recap on his proposed Interim Reorganization Plan, which was shared earlier during the Board Work Session.  Ms. Jenkins explained her concerns pertaining to this plan and stated to the Board that she would be voting nay.

Ms. Jenkins stated that she feels an obligation to share a tragic event that occurred in our school community.  She asked that everyone be very sensitive to the victim and expressed how proud she was of the student, her friend and the teacher who said something.  Ms. Jenkins stated that she was grateful for the Satellite Beach Police Department who took the complaint seriously, acted quickly and made a connection with Brevard County Sherriff's Office and did the right thing.  She also expressed appreciation to both the staff at the district and the school.
