The purpose of the proposed revisions to the policy is to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures, and guidelines. In addition, the proposed revisions promote transparency and accountability.

• This policy is being revised to conform to the latest NEOLA template.
• This policy revision cross-references and incorporates updates related to the 2020 Title IX federal regulations as reflected in the new Policy 2266 - Nondiscrimination on The Basis of Sex in Education Programs and Activities.
• Compliance Officer information and records retention provisions have been updated along with other miscellaneous updates suggested by NEOLA.
• These proposed revisions encompass the suggested language from NEOLA.


Board Policy 5517 - Anti-Harassment is currently being revised and will appear before the School Board on the dates indicated below:

•    Cabinet – 11/15/2021
•    Work Session – 12/14/2021
•    Rule Development Workshop – 1/18/2022
•    School Board Meeting Information – 1/18/2022
•    School Board Meeting Approval – 2/8/2022
•    Effective Date – upon approval
