Imperial Estates Elementary School - Facility Renewal - Construction Management Services - SALES SURTAX
Consent w/o Information - 01/14/2020
The sales surtax facility renewal project at Imperial Estates Elementary School is scheduled for summer 2020.
Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $1,195,078 under their continuing contract for construction management services. The design was prepared by Above Group, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP) engineering services. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $10,000.
The scope of the project is primarily HVAC renewal, controls, electrical and plumbing. Funding will be allocated by sales surtax categories based on the allocation distribution in Exhibit B attached. A separate chiller renewal is proposed which will either be done directly through Trane or through the construction manager as a change order. The estimated cost is $95,000. This amount is included in the finanacial summary for the project, but is not currenlty included in the contract.
The supplemental sales surtax funding ($520,000) for this project will be considered by the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee prior to the School Board's January 14, 2020 meeting.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $1,205,078 for the facility renewal project at Imperial Estates Elementary.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Wharton Smith, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,195,078 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the facility renewal project at Imperial Estates Elementary.
Approve the allocation of $520,000 in sales surtax revenue over $198 million for the project.
