The sales surtax facility renewal project at South Pine Grove is scheduled for summer 2020. 

Wharton Smith, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $285,936 under their continuing contract for construction management services. The design was prepared by OCI Associates, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP) engineering services. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $3,000.

The scope of the project is primarily HVAC renewal, electrical and classroom technology infrastructure. Funding will be allocated by sales surtax categories based on the allocation distribution in Exhibit B attached.

The project cost exceeds the funding allocated in the Sales Surtax Funded Detail Report (Attachment F) for South Pine Grove by $60,000. This amount will be funded through facility renewal sales surtax contingency. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee will be advised of the use of contingency at their February 2020 meeting.

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000.

Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $288,936 for the facility renewal project at South Pine Grove.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. in an amount not to exceed $285,963 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the facility renewal project at South Pine Grove.
